In the historic center, the happy few are captivated by the enchanting displays of the Amsterdam Light Festival. Meanwhile, in the suburbs, a single blurry light bulb represents the daily struggles of many, who anxiously hope they can afford to keep their lights on.
This juxtaposition underscores the invisible contradictions within the city, where the beauty and brightness of prosperity are set against the backdrop of economic hardship and uncertainty.

This work was created based on the call of ‘Double Citiies’, conceived on the occasion of “GO! 2025 Nova Gorica-Gorizia European Capital of Culture”, challenging to capture cross-border identities and relationships.
