The collection ‘Nature is Golden’ pays homage to nature, which holds profound meaning for me*.
The series consists of photos I have taken across the world, enhanced with golden digital oil paint. I discovered that applying gold accentuates even the smallest details, revealing intricate features often unnoticed by the naked eye.
Some works are highlighted in my portfolio and available for purchase on Saatchi Art.

Other and Experiments
To give an overview of my project, I collect other works and experiments on this page. These other works are not directly meant to sell, but if you see something that touches you, feel free to contact me😉

NATURE STRIKES BACK
For all nature lovers who are concerned about the role of humans in the survival of nature.
I took this photo in the Natural Park of Teno, Tenerife, Spain, and got a huge grin when I saw the middle finger gesture of this rock. (At least, that’s what I see in it.)

JUST SMILE.
I could have titled this piece ‘I was born to make you happy‘ but that would be very Britney Spears.
This photo was taken in Laverne, Oklahoma, USA. This happy creature was sitting on the windshield of our car, being part of our road trip. Watch the magnificent details of this body!

WATCH ME BLOOM
I captured this photo in my own backyard in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The flowers of a Yucca. This plant intrigues, because it blooms randomly, regardless of the season, several times a year. It also seems to produce more and more flowers each time. Surprising, especially when you relate it to yourself. Sometimes, out of nowhere, you can bloom, randomly.

NOT MADE OF STONE
Despite the perhaps hard exterior that others see, inside our warm, golden heart beats. And we can be lighter than we might think.
The exterior can be seen as a the facade that we sometimes put up to protect ourselves from the outside world. And difficulties and challenges that we encounter in life, that can sometimes make us hard and unapproachable. We can protect ourselves and be strong, but we are just as affected and have the need to love and be loved. And we can be lighter than we might think, even float. Whatever the exterior shows.
This work is part of the collection ‘Nature is Golden’, which consists of photographs I have taken all over the world, painted with gold digital oil paint.
This photo was taken in Fuerteventura, Spain. It challenges us to think about who we are, how we present ourselves to the world and what it means to be ‘us’.

My Way. I took this photo in Woerden city center, Netherlands. Fell in love with this goose, minding it’s own business. Just what I needed. I almost got sucked into the habits of the art world (one unique style) and taking myself too seriously. Luckily I found myself back and just create what I am driven to do. Lightheartedness and humor are always present, no matter what. This is just a happy shot.
About Nature is Golden
This series pays homage to nature, which holds profound meaning for me (and on a deeper level: who you are in relation to your context). Being outdoors, immersed in nature, grounds me. It lifts me above daily realities. It feels as though nature is tailor-made for me: protecting, embracing, carrying, and supporting me. Nature feels vast and purposeful, and I am a part of it. I am connected. Nature consoles me. As I walk through it, all my senses awaken, and my mind engages. The grandeur of nature, its awe-inspiring presence, makes me feel small yet imbues my existence with meaning. (And the animals I have photographed make me grin. What fantastic beings.) Nature lives. It is alive. It is life.
